Botox Albuquerque

Botox Albuquerque by Belleza Med Spa, a specialist in Botox procedures.

Botox is an injectable that can prevent unwanted facial expression lines. It can also be used to improve and blend wrinkles into non-existence. Each time you contract a muscle under the skin’s surface, you are essentially causing all the wrinkles and expression lines you see in your face. Years and years of repetitive muscle contractions, furrows, or folds, might develop into deep creases even without any active expression. Think of a piece of paper that has been crumpled up over and over. Even when smoothed out, the paper will still display all the lines, wrinkles, and creases caused by the repetitive crumbling. Botox, an FDA-approved purified protein naturally derived from the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum Type A, has been used for over 20 years no to reduce unwanted muscle activity. It is considered, not only effective, but also very safe. Botox was developed for treatment of ophthalmologic and neurologic muscular diseases; it is also now used for the reduction of facial expression lines.

All fillers, Kybella, and Botox injections are by Dr. Pacheco, a medical doctor and are not done by NP and RN or estheticians. Dr. Pacheco is conservative with her treatments and will not over inject The goal is to produce the classic beautiful look, not “duck lips.”

Before running out to get Botox, Albuquerque, here are a few frequently asked questions from your Albuquerque Botox specialists!

How does Botox work?
Botox inhibits the contraction of desired muscles, immobilizing them and giving the skin time to smooth out. Only muscles producing these undesirable lines are treated.
What areas can you use Botox for?
Frown lines between the eyebrows, crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles all respond well to Botox treatments. The procedure takes a few minutes and the full effects are visible within 10-14 days after the initial injection. Dr. Pacheco can also inject other sites “off-label” with her advanced experience. We encourage you to make an appointment today to determine your needs and maximize your outcome. Think pretty, think Belleza Med Spa.
What kinds of facial lines does it remove?
Prominent facial expression lines, especially horizontal lines on the forehead, vertical lines between the eyebrows, and crow’s feet are most dramatically improved with treatment.
Botox Albuquerque – does the Botox injection hurt?
Like any shot, there is a slight prick when Botox is injected, but once the injection is complete there is the possibility of a mild discomfort that should subside within a few minutes. Topical anesthetic is available as needed. Dr. Pacheco can administer a dental block for kissing lines to achieve complete numbing if needed.
How does Botox compare to other products such as collagen and filler materials?
Well, there really is no comparison as these treatments are different though they both treat wrinkles. Botox prevents muscle contraction, allowing your skin to remain smooth and wrinkle free where as dermal fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm fill in the lines and/or creases present at rest that Botox cannot remove.
How many treatments are required?
That depends on the individual, as Botox is actually absorbed and metabolized by the body. Each patient metabolizes Botox at a different rate, so the treatments effectiveness varies from patient to patient.
When can I expect to see results after treatment?
Reduction in muscle activity in the treated area can typically be noticed within 48 hours, but it usually takes anywhere between 10-14 days for the maximum benefit to kick in.
Are there any limitations after treatment?
Yes. Touching the treated area within an hour of the procedure is not recommended. In fact, pushing on the treated area can actually cause a negative effect. However, normal activities can be resumed with little discomfort immediately following treatment.

Do not touch or massage for 4 hours.

Are there any risks or side effects?
Though rare (reported in about one percent of those treated), adjacent muscles can be affected. Droopy eyelids are probably the most common side effect. But any unwanted muscle relaxation would be temporary, and there are NO reports of any injuries to the eye during treatment.
Can Botox cause botulism?
Absolutely not. The quantities of Botox administered are to small to cause botulism or any related symptoms.
